For non-physician healthcare professionals:

CME Credit is not related to other specialty CEU Credit. As an accredited provider of CME, we do not provide any type of CEUs. However, non-physician healthcare professionals who complete an accredited activity receive an HP certificate (Healthcare Provider Certificate). It is similar to an attendance certificate. That person then may submit that certificate to their own credentialing board (nursing, pharmacy, social work, etc.) to see if they can obtain transferrable CEUs from that board.

Medical Assistant
American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
AAMA accepts non-AAMA credit. A maximum of 30 recertification points may be accumulated from sources other than AAMA CEUs (e.g., physician CME credits). 1 continuing medical education (CME)
credit = 1 recertification point. (Refertification FAQ).

Nurse
California Board of Registered Nursing (CBRN)
The CBRN recognizes CME credit as transferrable for their members. Nurses may receive CEUs after submitting their UC Irvine attendance certificate directly to their board (Renewal)

American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP)
American Academy of Nurse Practitioners accepts CME-accredited courses for their members as part of their requirements for recertification. (Recertification FAQ)

American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)
The ANCC accepts formally approved CME accredited courses for its members to gain CEUs (ANCC).

Physician Assistant
California Department of Consumer Affairs Physician Assistant Board
Category 1 continuing medical education is required for physician assistants. Admissible CME must be provided by AMA and ACCME providers, among others. Visit the CA PAC Board’s Renewal Page For more info.

National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
Certification requirements include 100 hours of CME, 50 of which must be Category 1 credits and the rest can be either Category 1 or 2. (NCCPA CME).
